Astana - Nurjol Boulevard
If you are in Astana and have footpaths, alleys, new modern buildings and important architectural symbols of the capital right before your eyes, you are probably on Nurjol Boulevard. This open-air attraction is the central axis of the new Astana architectural ensemble.
The boulevard leads from the Akorda presidential residence to the Khan Shatyr shopping and entertainment centre. In the middle of the boulevard is the Baiterek, and along the boulevard are the administrative buildings of the main government agencies and private companies. These include the government, the Senate, the Majilis, the Supreme Court, the House of Ministries, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, JSC NC KazMunayGas, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the State Archives and the National Library.
The pedestrian zone is decorated with flower beds, fountains, beautiful flower avenues with benches, as well as many fountains, each with its own design and unique image.
