Bishkek - Ala Archa Gorge
The Ala-Archa Gorge is one of the most famous sights in Kyrgyzstan. The Ala-Archa Gorge is located not far from Bishkek, in the Chui region, and is a national park. Every year the gorge attracts thousands of tourists, both locals and foreigners. There are several reasons for its popularity. Firstly, Ala-Archa Gorge is only 30 km away from Bishkek; therefore, it is very easy to reach and has all the necessary infrastructures: a well-paved road, shops, hotels, cafés and places to rest amidst the picturesque nature.
Secondly, the Ala-Archa Gorge has its geographical peculiarities – it is located in the central and highest part of the Kyrgyz mountain ridge, the second longest mountain range of the Tien Shan. Therefore, the mountains rise as high as possible above the plain and numerous trails to the highest peaks of the Kyrgyz mountain range start here.
Ala-Archa is famous for its untouched nature: extensive spruce forests, birch groves, numerous springs with pure glacial water and mighty rocks.
