Osh - Chiyrchyk Mountain Pass
The Chiyrchyk Pass is a mountain pass located 40 kilometres south of the city of Osh. It is one of the most important tourist places in the Osh region.
The altitude of the Chiyrchyk Pass is 2400 metres. It is the first pass of the famous Pamir Tract, which starts in Osh. Therefore, Chiyrchyk Mountain Pass became an important part of the tourist infrastructure of Osh.
In summer, there are numerous cafés here serving kymyz and various national dishes of Kyrgyzstan. Locals from Osh and the surrounding villages hold picnics and holidays here.
In winter there is a small ski station where you can go skiing and tubing, which is very popular in Kyrgyzstan, i.e. car cylinders made by overweight trucks. The base is equipped with a cable car.
The nature of the place is also very beautiful. In summer, the mountains all around are covered with a carpet of bright green grass and flowers. The bright red rocks in the area are a striking colour contrast to the green vegetation and snow-capped peaks of the Pamirs.
